Walking on Wednesday ~ Stay ~ With Some Music

Image
Makes Me Wanna Stay. Don't It?  Source:   piccsy.com   via   Rebecca   on   Pinterest Yes, I arranged to have 2 days off in a row this week, Tuesday and Wednesday. I spent the latter part of Monday at work, sick. And I spent my day off yesterday sick, of course. You are only sick on your days off. I didn't even get my walk/run in. I didn't get my Music Monday done. I didn't cook. I didn't even get dressed until 3:30pm.  I have to say it was great to just sit and rest ALL DAY long. I really didn't feel like doing anything else, and that I knew I had another whole day where I didn't HAVE to get in by 11am and open and be stuck at the shop all day, well it just makes me wanna stay and waste some more time. Wasting time Let the hours roll by Doing nothing for the fun Little taste of the good life Whether right or wrong Makes us want to stay stay stay stay for awhile This song reminds me of our time in the Caribbean - the war

Walking on Wednesday ~ What Day Is It?

Image
Source: iwastesomuchtime.com via Karen on Pinterest What day is it? Lately, whatever day I think it is changes throughout the day. I am not sure what day of the week it is most of the time, and date of the month? Forget it.  Yesterday, I greeted the chimney repair guys with -  "OH is it the 18th already?"   - suddenly remembering they set the repair date weeks ago, but wait, weren't they coming the 19th? Oh yes, it was the 19th! Then later in the afternoon, while discussing an item that was going to be shipped on Friday that we had to package, I said,  "but it is going to be picked up tomorrow!"   Well, it was Thursday, right? NO, it was Wednesday . Oh yes, that is why I had blogger open with a blank page waiting for Walking on Wednesday .  I think Pooh is right.  - Today is my favorite day -  Even if I don't know what day it is. Mostly, it doesn't matter the name of the day, or the number of the day. It matters t

Music Monday! Amadeus Batman

Image
I bet you are laughing. Those two things do not seem to go together, I would normally agree. Under any other circumstances, this is true. But today, these two things were how I started the day. A discussion since last night has rocked us. Yes, the 80's are trendy now, strange to us who grew up in the 80's. It was fun then, but to re-live? To be reminded of some of the fashion, the 'whatever' of the 80's - that we could certainly do without. But once in a while, a song pops back in our heads, and there it sits. And with discussion of the 1980's, this song, Rock Me Amadeus , came up and it has remained there in the forefront of our minds ever since. No, we do not understand much of what he is saying, so we mumble along until.... Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus Come on and rock me Amadeus. So why Batman? Bat- Girl , actually, showed up at our house early this morning. When I dropped her

Walking on Wednesday ~ I Just Keep Runn-Innnggg

Image
I was never a good runner.   My sister, she was the runner.   Being younger than her, I was the tag-a-long, I was the copy cat, and usually it drove her crazy. So when she discovered she was a good runner, I followed her and ran too.   I soon discovered, way back in middle school, that running wasn't for me. I always finished last, and dang it hurt! I was much better suited in the pool, where I always loved to be since I could remember. (I was the one who stayed in our family pool until my lips turned blue.)   Add to that a knee injury I got while playing indoor soccer, running was not for me!   This was reinforced a few years ago when my daughter was on the cross country team. I tried to run with her, and hurt me knees so bad I could not make it up a flight of stairs. That ended running for me altogether.   So now you know I am not one of those natural runners, one of those die-hard, 'isn't running great?', 'everyone should run' cheerleaders.

Featured Artist from the On Fire Team ~ Chainmaille by MBOI

Image
This Weeks Featured Artisan is Chainmaille by MBOI Chainmaille is an ancient art that dates back before the 5th century.  The process involves interweaving rings of various sizes into intricate patterns to create wearable metal art.  In ancient times, chainmaille served the useful purpose of protecting soldiers in battle; but, since there are very few jousting matches happening on modern streets, chainmaille has evolved into wearable art.  ChainmailleByMBOI creates pieces using a variety of metals including Sterling Silver, Copper, Aluminum, Brass, and Bronze.  Almost any pattern that you see can be created from a different metal so if you don’t see exactly what you are looking for, please don’t hesitate to  contact us  and we will be happy to begin a special order for you. Music Monday! My Best Friend

Image
Thanks to hubby, my best friend, I have been listening to some good music at the shop lately. Who doesn't need a little Depeche Mode now and then?      Makes the day feel totally different than The Monkees , and that is a good thing! I like the relaxation I get when listening to Depeche Mode . It keeps me level, and helps me concentrate, which I need today. My Mondays have become like Fridays because I take Tuesdays off, and today I can't wait until the end of the work day so I can go home. Thank goodness some good music will get me there.  Thanks to my best friend, I know he will never let me down. And no , there is no 'again', he never has and I know he never will. TGI Monday!
